Q. I have not been baptized but I asked Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Savior. Do I still need to be baptized?

A. Baptism is not your salvation experience. The Bible teaches that we are not saved by what we do but we are saved by grace. Salvation is a free gift from God because of the sacrifice of Christ when He gave His life for us. However, as a follower of Christ, the Bible teaches that we are to follow Christ's example and as a step of obedience be baptized.

Q. I was baptized as a small child. Is it okay to be baptized again?

A. Many people were baptized at an early age and often cannot even remember the experience. Our mission at Freedom Life is to help lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Therefore, we want to do whatever it takes for you to be obedient to what God is showing you. If you are comfortable that God was honored through your baptism, then we will not question your baptism. If you were baptized as a child and did not understand or even remember your baptism and feel that you would honor God by choosing to be baptized again, we would be honored to baptize you.

Q. I was baptized before but I really did not know what I was doing and I have not lived like a follower of Christ. Should I be baptized now that I am choosing to be a follower of Christ?

A. Baptism is a very important step for every follower of Christ. If when you were baptized, you did not understand or had not submitted your heart to Christ and would like to be baptized, we will be honored to baptize you.

Q. There seems to be several forms of baptism used in churches. (sprinkling, pouring, immersion, etc.) Which one is right?

A. Sincere followers of Christ differ on the style of baptism. At Freedom Life we prefer immersion because it is a great picture of burying the old life. It reflects the symbolism of being buried with Christ in Romans 6:3-4.
